Higherpower yoga, cycling studio to open in South Market District

Higherpower fitness studio will open in the South Market District early next year, joining a growing list of retailers and restaurants moving into the $250 million new downtown development.

Higherpower, which focuses on a mix of yoga and cycling classes, already has a studio in Mid-City near City Park.

The new location will be open in The Beacon, the third mixed-use building under construction in the South Market District being developed by The Domain Cos. off Loyola Avenue in the Central Business District.

“The new studio will spread across 2,502 square feet with instructor-led, music-themed classes for indoor cycling, yoga and high intensity exercises,” said Mark Berger, one of higherpower’s owners, in a news release.

Classes will be offered every day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the release.

Other tenants in the new development include clothing shop Hattie Sparks, furniture retailer Arhaus, fitness center Barre3 and restaurants such as Willa Jean Bakery, Ursa Major, Magasin and Company Burger.
