The buzz is building around Marcello’s Restaurant and Wine Bar, which opened on Monday, April 21st to great reviews from both critics and patrons alike. Located at 715 St. Charles Avenue, Marcello’s is well-positioned to provide downtown residents and workers with delicious wine and Italian food at reasonable prices — what’s not to love?
From Marcello’s website:
From Italian classics to modern creations, our menu features sophisticated comfort food. Our wine program is unique to the area and is available for retail purchase without the traditional restaurant mark-ups.
As some readers might remember, the St. Charles space was formerly occupied by Le Chat Noir and (briefly) Gene’s Bar & Dinner Theatre. Marcello’s owner Gene Todaro and executive chef Blakley Kyme have teamed up to create the Sicilian concept and menu.
